Anders Gustaf Ekeberg was a Swedish chemist who discovered the element tantalum in 1802.

Ekeberg was born on January 16, 1767 in the swedish town of Uppsala.

Later in 1784, he enrolled at Uppsala University, and graduated in 1788.

In 1799 he was elected to be a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences.

Fourteen years later, Ekeberg died.
